If you've never bought a Solana memecoin before, this is for you. If you have, skip to Step 3. The whole process takes about 10 minutes once your wallet is funded.
What you'll need
- A Solana wallet (Phantom, Solflare, or Backpack)
- Some SOL to swap with — minimum ~$5 worth, plus a tiny bit for transaction fees
- The NORDO contract address:

Step 1: Install a Solana wallet
Phantom is the most common choice. It works as a browser extension and as a mobile app. Solflare and Backpack are equally fine alternatives — pick whichever you like the look of.
Browser extension (recommended for first-timers):
- Go to phantom.app and click "Download"
- Install the browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, Brave, or Edge
- Click "Create new wallet" (or "Import" if you already have a seed phrase)
- Set a strong password
- Write down your 12-word seed phrase on paper. Not in a screenshot. Not in a Notes app. On paper. Store it somewhere you won't lose it.
Your seed phrase is your wallet. Anyone who has it owns your wallet permanently. Phantom support cannot recover it. Nothing can recover it. Treat it like a physical key to a safe.
Step 2: Fund your wallet with SOL
You need SOL (Solana's native token) to swap into NORDO and to pay transaction fees. Two main paths:
Path A — Buy SOL on a centralized exchange and withdraw:
- Open an account on Coinbase, Binance, Kraken, Bybit, or any exchange that supports SOL
- Buy SOL with your local currency. $20-50 is plenty for a memecoin position; you only need a few cents in SOL for fees.
- Find your Phantom wallet address: open Phantom, click the address at the top, and copy it
- On the exchange, click "Withdraw" → "SOL" → paste your Phantom address → set amount → confirm
- Withdrawals usually arrive in 30 seconds to 2 minutes
Path B — Use Phantom's built-in fiat on-ramp:
- In Phantom, click "Buy" or "Deposit"
- Pick a provider (MoonPay, Coinbase Pay, etc.)
- Pay with credit card or bank transfer
- SOL appears in your wallet directly
This path is easier but charges higher fees (~3-5% on top of the spread). For a $20-30 first buy it doesn't matter much. For larger amounts, the CEX route is cheaper.
Step 3: Open Jupiter (the recommended swap)
Jupiter is Solana's biggest aggregator — it routes your swap through whichever DEX has the best price (Raydium, Orca, etc.) automatically. You don't need to know which pool to use; it figures that out.
- Go to jup.ag
- Click "Connect Wallet" in the top right and choose Phantom
- Phantom will pop up asking for permission. Approve it.
- In the swap interface, leave the top token as "SOL"
- For the bottom token, click the dropdown and paste the contract address:
2kLRediwpqmj9VpKGxrfTEUGyajFv8PkoBechNw6MDvj - NORDO should appear with the polar bear icon. Click it.
Direct shortcut: you can skip steps 4-6 by using this pre-filled Jupiter swap link.
Step 4: Set slippage correctly
Slippage is the price tolerance for your trade. NORDO's pool is currently small, which means slippage matters more than it does for big tokens. Set it too low and your trade fails. Set it too high and you might overpay during volatile moments.
Recommended settings for NORDO right now:
- Buy size $5-30: 1-2% slippage usually works
- Buy size $30-100: 2-5% slippage
- Buy size $100+: consider splitting into multiple smaller swaps to reduce price impact
To change slippage in Jupiter: click the gear/settings icon next to the swap button and set "Max slippage" manually.
Step 5: Swap
- Type the amount of SOL you want to swap. The interface shows you how much NORDO you'll receive.
- Check "Price Impact" — for a thin pool, this can be high. If it shows above 10-15% on a small buy, your slippage is set too low or your buy is too big for the pool.
- Click "Swap"
- Phantom pops up to sign the transaction. Review the numbers, then approve.
- Wait 5-15 seconds for confirmation.
You should see a confirmation toast. Your NORDO is now in your wallet.
Step 6: Verify and track
To see your NORDO balance in Phantom:
- Open Phantom
- NORDO should appear in your token list automatically. If not, click "Manage" or "Add token" and paste the contract address.
- To track price: open DexScreener or Birdeye and bookmark the page
After your buy: a few security notes
The Solana ecosystem has scams. Some basics that will save you from losing your wallet:
- Never sign a transaction you don't understand. Phantom shows you a description before every signing. If it says "transfer all assets" or asks for permissions you didn't expect, reject it.
- Don't connect your wallet to random sites. A wallet connection alone is fine, but signing a malicious transaction can drain you. Stick to known sites: Jupiter, Raydium, Orca, MagicEden for NFTs.
- Use a separate wallet for memecoin degen play. Don't keep your savings in the same wallet you connect to memecoin sites. Phantom lets you create multiple accounts in seconds.
- Beware of fake "support" DMs. Anyone DMing you offering wallet help is a scammer. 100% of the time. Phantom never DMs.
- Bookmark the contract address. Always verify it matches:
2kLRediwpqmj9VpKGxrfTEUGyajFv8PkoBechNw6MDvj. Scammers create fake tokens with similar names.
Common questions
How much should I buy?
That's between you and your risk tolerance. NORDO is a memecoin — treat any position like an asymmetric option that has a real chance of going to zero. The classic memecoin rule applies: only buy what you'd happily incinerate. For most people, that's $20-100.
What if Jupiter says "no route found"?
Usually means slippage is too low or pool liquidity is briefly fragmented. Increase slippage to 5-10% and try again. If it still fails, try Raydium directly at raydium.io using the same contract address.
How do I sell?
Same process in reverse. On Jupiter, swap NORDO → SOL. Same slippage rules apply. The SOL appears in your Phantom; from there you can swap it back to USDC, send to an exchange, or use Phantom's off-ramp to convert to fiat.
Is the contract safe?
The token has all three critical authorities renounced — mint, freeze, and metadata update. Verify on Solscan: solscan.io/token/2kLRed...wMDvj. The contract cannot be modified by anyone. That said, this is still a memecoin — contract safety doesn't mean the price is safe.
Why is the market cap so low?
Long story. Short version: the original team launched in early 2025, the project hit ~$675k market cap, the team went silent for 10 months, and the chart bled. The community is now reviving the project. We wrote about this in detail: The NORDO Revival. For the math on what a low-cap entry actually means: The Math of $593.
